Setting Up Your File
When importing a CSV file of contacts, the format used will need to match the headers and format exactly as described below, or the import results will be inconsistent.
Prior to importing, you'll need to review and potentially edit your CSV file in a spreadsheet program like Google Sheets or Excel. This will allow you to modify the header names so they match the exact name of the field's listed below and confirm the data is broken up as specified. Variations of header titles are also allowed and are indicated by alternate spelling.
We strongly recommend that you test your import with one or two contacts prior to importing a large batch of contacts. If the import doesn't work properly the contacts will need to be deleted individually, (unless it's a brand new account).
To make importing contacts easier, you may use this google doc. This will ensure the headers are correct and you can paste your information into the rows as needed.
As many users have access to this, the file is a "view only" file. Please save a copy for yourself and then add your data as needed. Not sure how to save a copy? Check out Google's help article by clicking here.
Once your copy is updated to match the headers described, select download your file as a CSV. This can now be imported into 17hats.
Please note the phone numbers must be entered in the 888-888-888 format.
