Unfortunately, 17hats does not support self-signed certificates.  This is due to the fact that the ssl certificate the server uses must be trusted, valid, and match the domain name used to connect to the server.  It also must not be revoked.

This may sound strict, but without these proper checks there is no additional security, so we cannot support this.
