FROM WORKAROUND TO NEW FEATURE
If you have been using the widely adopted workaround to book groups with 17hats Online Scheduling, you will need to set up our new group booking functionality as the workaround will no longer work.
What was the workaround?
The workaround was to not cross reference a calendar in the availability schedule, allowing you to book an unlimited number of people in one time slot.
Now with Online Scheduling Groups released, this workaround will no longer work as we are cross checking calendars differently.
Adjusting your Service
Adjusting your service for Online Scheduling Groups is easy. Just following these simple steps.
1. Open Your Service
Navigate to Online Scheduling > Services and open the service you wish to adjust.
2. Change Your Service Type
Premier and Founding 17hats Members, as well as anyone with the Advanced Online Scheduling Module, will see the ability to select a Service Type: Individual or Group.
For services you wish to book more than one person per time slot, you will need to select Group for the Service Type.
3. Input the Number of Bookings Per Time Slot
With the Group service type, you will be able to input the number of bookings per time slot in the Service Time Frame section.
Here you will need to add the amount of people you are allowing to booking during one time slot.
Examples:
Profession: Coach
Service: Group Workshop with 10 seats available.
Number of booking per time slot: 10
Profession: Photographer
Service: Headshots
Number of booking per time slot: 3
Service Duration: 15 minutes
Three people can book with your every 15 minutes.
4. Save Your Service
Once you have selected Group Service Type and added the number of bookings per time slot, save your service and you are done.

Q: Do I need to adjust my Availability Schedule?
A: No, you do not.
Q: Should I cross-check calendars in my Availability Schedule?
A: While it is not required, it is highly recommended. Cross-checking your personal calendars as well as any calendar with booked services ensures you are not double booking yourself.
Q: I have the Standard (or Essentials) Level on 17hats, will this work for me?
A: Online Scheduling Groups is only available for Premier and Founding Members or with the Advanced Online Scheduling Module. If you would like to use Groups, you'll need to upgrade your account.
