How to write emails with 17hats AI Assistant, Hattie Hats

Use Hattie, 17hats AI assistant, to help write and improve your emails inside 17hats.

You can create email templates using 17hats’ AI technology: Hattie Hats. It is easy to have Hattie create an email template (or stand-alone email) with a simple prompt or have her revise an existing email with a different voice.

Hattie Hats is available on all Membership Plans of 17hats.

How it works:

  1. Navigate to Account Settings → Documents and Emails and click “New Template” to create a new email template.


  2. Name your email template. Email template names are not visible to your clients.

    Pro-Tip: use a naming convention so that you can easily search for templates in your template library.

  3. There are two ways Hattie can help: she can create an email based on a prompt or revise an existing email to help improve it.

    To have Hattie create an email based on a prompt, click into the body of the email template and give a brief description of the email you would like to create. For example, “Please write an email reminding my clients that an Invoice is due in seven days.”

    To have Hattie revise an email you create, type or paste the email into the body of the email template.

  4. To generate the email (or email changes), click the “AI Options” button in the email editing bar. Next, choose the voice you would like to use.


    It will take a minute for Hattie to help rewrite your email. Once she is done, the changes will automatically appear in your email window.

  5. If you want to remove Hattie's changes, click the “Remove AI” button. Your original email will reappear.

  6. Proofread your email. As with any AI functionality, you must proofread your email to ensure all information is accurate.

Replying to client emails with Hattie (available on Standard and Premier Membership Levels)

Hattie can help you reply to client emails inside 17hats. The first step is ensuring your Incoming Email Server is connected to 17hats. This is available on Standard and Premier Membership levels.

You can use Hattie to reply to emails from your Dashboard or a Project. Hattie will respond to the most recent email in your email chain.

Please be sure to proofread your email response before sending it to your client.

How would I use this feature?

You can use Hattie in a few different ways. You may want to make an existing email a little friendlier; Hattie can help. Or you might be stuck on the best way to reply to an inquiry; Hattie can help write the first draft for you. Hattie is here to help take the stress out of writing emails.

A: You can currently use Hattie 50 times per month.

Q: Do I need to proofread my emails?

A: Yes, you must proofread your emails before sending them.

Q: Can I use Hattie to write blog posts?

A: No, Hattie can only write emails for you in 17hats.

Q: Can my Team Members use Hattie?

A: Yes, your Team Members have access to Hattie.

Q: I asked for a “funny” email but want a different “funny” email. Can Hattie do that?

A: Sometimes Hattie will generate a second funny email, but you may have to ask her to try a few times.
