Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is now available in 17hats. It adds a second layer of protection to your login, so a password alone is not enough to get into your account.
What Two-Factor Authentication does
With Two-Factor Authentication turned on, logging in takes two things instead of one: something you know (your password) and a code from an authenticator app on your device. If someone gets hold of your password, they still cannot reach your account, your clients' documents, or your Client Portal data.
You can use Apple Passwords, 1Password, LastPass, Google Authenticator, Authy, or another compatible authenticator app. If you already use one for other logins, use the same one here.
If you have a team on your account, you can also require Two-Factor Authentication for everyone who logs in, not just yourself.
Before you get started
Install an authenticator app on your phone or computer if you do not already have one. Apple Passwords, 1Password, LastPass, Google Authenticator, and Authy all work, as do other compatible apps.
Have that device nearby and charged before you begin. You will need it to finish setup.
Set aside a few uninterrupted minutes. Starting the process and walking away can leave setup incomplete.
Know which login you are securing. If you manage more than one Brand, you access them from a single login.
If you have team members on your account, decide whether you will require Two-Factor Authentication for them as well.
