When registering your texting brand and campaigns through The Campaign Registry (TCR) and texting partners, your submission must meet specific compliance requirements. If your brand or campaign is rejected, TCR and texting partners will provide a reason code and description.
This article covers the two most common rejection reasons and how to fix them so you can resubmit successfully.
1. EIN Mismatch
Reason: “Tax ID does not match with the company name or business type.”
How to Fix:
Locate your official EIN paperwork (IRS confirmation letter or other tax documents).
Ensure your EIN number, business name, and business type match exactly as they appear in IRS records.
For most 17hats members, we recommend selecting Professional Services as your business type.
Pay close attention to details:
Legal suffixes like “LLC” or “Inc.” must match exactly.
Include your DBA if applicable.
Symbols (&, +) must match exactly.
Punctuation after initials must match exactly.
If everything is correct:
Contact support@campaignregistry.com and include your EIN number, business name, and SS-4 Form Number.
2. Privacy Policy Required (Reason Code 805)
Reason: Your campaign does not have a compliant Privacy Policy.
How to Fix:
Publish your Privacy Policy on your website.
Include a direct link in your campaign registration.
Your policy must state:
“No mobile opt-in information will be shared with third parties.”
Use our Sample Privacy Policy as a starting point.
